Bee Treasures' quality offering
Founded in late 2014, Bee Treasures -- headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam -- is backed by international investors and runs a cooperative-type network. We currently source high-quality products from several South-East Asian countries, as well as from Australia and New Zealand, typically purchasing from small-scale producers. When operating in developing countries, we strive to work with minority groups that often have little access to structured markets. Do note that we only handle products from China on an exceptional basis, for they rarely meet our production standards and quality expectations.
We are in the process of setting up a small production centre in Vietnam's Central Highlands that will help us to develop innovative production and collection techniques that are both bee- and eco-friendly, and also optimize value creation for all those playing a role in the value chain.
Our company belongs to the social entrepreneurship movement. In that context, we seek to support the development of beekeeping in developing countries, for it is an effective way for communities to become more autonomous from an economic standpoint (see the Beeconomics page). 20% of our profits will be re-invested into training in the communities from which quality products are sourced. We are planning to join a leading fair trade organisation in the first half of 2016 -- stay tuned !
